Joey Harkum brought The Art of Revenge Tour to the Electric Haze in Worcester, Massachusetts. The show took place on February 24, 2024. The Quins and The Crowded Table were also on the bill for the evening. This was the second show of the 29 scheduled shows for the tour. All photos were provided by Joanna Gleason.
Tribal Seeds dropped Ancient Blood, their fifth studio album, on February 9, 2024. They have also released two EP’s and a live album throughout their career. A lot has changed since the release of their debut album Youth Rebellion in 2005, but Ancient Blood is truly a breath of fresh air. Kicking off with Bondage featuring The Twinkle Brothers, you can feel the energy building up through the thick bass lines. It also sets a theme for some of the features on the album, as there is a heavy presence of Jamaican artists showcased. The second track, One Time, features Romain Virgo. Hector Roots Lewis (Dusk Till Dawn) and Hempress Sativa (Wicked & Riled) are also Jamaican artists that are featured on this album.
311 came to the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut on February 15, 2024. Sitting on Stacy opened things up for the show. Sitting on Stacy kicked off their set with Hope She’s the One. They threw in fan favorites like Crème Brûlée, Tokyo, and Chest Hair. Feel free to check out their full setlist.
Duppy Conquerors, a Bob Marley tribute band, came to Soundcheck Studios in Pembroke, Massachusetts on February 9, 2024. This show was for the Bob Marley Birthday Celebration, and they brought all the classics and fan favorites with them. DJ Jah Rich joined as a special guest for this show as well. This show also happened on the heels of the release of the Bob Marley movie, Bob Marley: One Love. The movie hit theaters February 14, 2024. Max Creek came to Soundcheck Studios in Pembroke, Massachusetts on Friday December 15, 2023. This was the first of back to back nights at the venue for their Holiday Creekend. This band has been jamming over a span of five decades already. Scott Murawski, Mark Mercier, and John Rider have all been a part of the lineup since the 70’s. Joe Samba stopped by one of his old stomping grounds at Soundcheck Studios in Pembroke, Massachusetts. The show took place on November 10, 2023. Joey Harkum has been accompanying Joe for the tour. Highlights from their set included Hold On and All My Life. You may be familiar with Joey from his band Pasadena. They have a show scheduled for December 9, 2023, set to take place at Center Stage in Atlanta, Georgia.
Slightly Stoopid came blazing through the Xfinity Center in Mansfield, Massachusetts on August 25, 2023 for their Summertime 2023 Tour. Sublime with Rome, Atmosphere, and The Movement were all on the bill as well. The tour ran for 27 shows, kicking off off July 6, 2023 in Auburn, Washington. Things wrapped up September 3, 2023 in West Palm Beach, Florida.
Levitate Flannel Jam came back to the Marshfield Fairgrounds on October 8, 2023. They also made a stop on Nantucket the following day. Marshfield’s lineup had a few extra acts on the bill, including a special duo set with Mihali (Twiddle) and Jackson Wetherbee (The Elovaters). From the music, to the food and flannels, there was plenty to celebrate.
Michael Franti brought the Big Big Love 2023 Tour to Boston’s Leader Bank Pavilion. This show took place on June 29, 2023. Tank and the Bangas were also along with him to open things up for the night. They are always fun to catch live, and set the stage perfectly for Franti.
Shaggy and TLC brought the Hot Summer Nights Tour to the Xfinity Center in Mansfield, Massachusetts on June 11, 2023. Sean Kingston opened things up for the evening, and he was followed by En Vogue. They both had short but sweet sets, and got the crowd amped up for the upcoming dual headliners.
