Boston Legacy FC hosted Utah Royals FC for an afternoon match at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts on March 28, 2026. This was their third match of the season, and second at home. They were searching not only for their first win, but also their first goal of the year. Utah Royals FC entered the contest searching for their first win as well, as they had two losses and a draw to start the season.
The match started off modestly, as it went the first half hour plus scoreless in front of a crowd of over 10,000. Utah Royals FC then struck first, with a goal by Tatumn Milazzo at 33 minutes. This would be the score heading into halftime, as Boston Legacy FC goaltender Casey Murphy made an impressive save towards the end of stoppage time. The teams came back out after a 15 minute halftime, which had a performance by Ally the Piper for Irish Heritage Day. Once again, Utah Royals FC struck first with a goal by Lara Prasnikar at 50′ on a Penalty kick. This brought the score to 2-0. Aissata Traore then made history with Boston’s first franchise goal. The goal was scored at 72′ with an assist by Amanda Gutierres to make it 2-1. Despite the late push by Boston, this is how the match ended.

Boston Legacy FC will be back home at Gillette Stadium on April 3, 2026 to take on the San Diego Wave. San Diego is off to a hot start, as they are sitting at 3-1. They are also off until Friday’s match against Boston. Boston has two more games scheduled for April after Friday’s match. First they will be away against Chicago Stars on April 25, 2026.
