Boston Legacy FC hosted North Carolina Courage at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts on April 29, 2026. Boston entered the match still seeking their first victory of the season (and their franchise). North Carolina came in with a record of two wins, two draws, and one loss. It was also Boston Sports Night at the stadium, with Brad Stevens of the Boston Celtics getting the crowd going with a message before the game.
Boston started the match aggressively, when Alba Cano scored at the 5′. Eight minutes later, Sammy Smith added a goal to give Boston the 2-0 lead. They would carry that two goal lead into halftime. Unfortunately for the Legacy, the second half was all North Carolina. Dani Weatherholt struck at 53′ to make it 2-1. then at the 76′, Ashley Sanchez scored the equalizer. This is how the game would come to an end. Despite losing the early two goal lead, Boston still secured their first point in franchise history with the draw.
