Max Creek came to Soundcheck Studios in Pembroke, Massachusetts on Friday December 15, 2023. This was the first of back to back nights at the venue for their Holiday Creekend. This band has been jamming over a span of five decades already. Scott Murawski, Mark Mercier, and John Rider have all been a part of the lineup since the 70’s. Their style is a mixture of rock, country, reggae, jazz and more. Photographs provided by Joanna Gleason.

Max Creek hit the stage and delivered over three hours of jams, as there was no opener for the show. They kicked their first set off with Borrowing Time. They mixed in Dark Water and I Will Always See Your Face. Fire and Brimstone and Up On Cripple Creek were some classics tossed in to the first set as well. After a break, they kicked off their second set with You Write the Book. mixed in some rock and roll Christmas carols. Little Drummer Boy, Joy to the World, and Hark the Herald Angels Sing were amongst them. Jones, Rainbow, and Outside of Home also made the cut. They ended the set with Gimme Some Lovin. Finally, they came out for an encore of Back Porch Boogie Blues shortly after midnight.

KEEPING UP WITH MAX CREEK

Max Creek will be performing one more show this year. It will be a New Year’s Eve jam at the Colonial Theatre in Pittsfield, Massachusetts on December 31, 2021.
