Dropkick Murphys came to the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut on September 28, 2023. They were joined by Jesse Ahern and The Interrupters. Jesse started things off for the night, and played many of his top songs. Pray, Back Against the Wall, and Highway of Life were amongst them. The Interrupters then followed, and hit us with a solid ten song set. Top songs performed included Take Back the Power, On a Turntable, and Gave You Everything. They also mixed in Judge Not, a Bob Marley cover. They ended their set with She’s Kerosene.
Once Dropkick took stage (to The Foggy Dew by The Chieftains with Sinead O’ Connor), they kicked things off with Worker’s Song. They performed top hits like The Boys Are Back, The State of Massachusetts, and Rose Tattoo. There was also a few covers mixed in, Which Side Are You On? (The Almanac Singers) and The Bonny (Gerry Cinnamon). They wrapped up their 19 song set with Until the Next Time. Finally, there was a three song encore. They began with Out of Our Heads, and capped things off with Dig a Hole and I’m Shipping Up to Boston. For those interested, you can find the full setlist from the evening.
KEEPING UP WITH DROPKICK MURPHYS
Dropkick Murphys currently have no more scheduled shows for the rest of the year. The good news is that 2024 is shaping up to be a busy one for them. They have announced their annual Boston St. Paddy’s Day run of shows. The first show is set for March 14, 2024 at the House of Blues. From there they will play three straight nights (March 15-17, 2024) at the MGM Music Hall at Fenway. They then have a run of shows overseas, including stops in Germany, Denmark, and the Netherlands.
