Smallpools and Grayscale brought their co-headlining tour to the Paradise Rock Club in Boston, Massachusetts on April 13, 2024. This show was part of The Night Shift Tour. Lime Cordiale stopped by the Middle East in Cambridge, Massachusetts on March 29, 2024. They were joined by special guest Windser. This show was part of their North American leg of their tour.
Josiah and the Bonnevilles came to Paradise Rock Club in Boston, Massachusetts on March 26, 2024. This show was part of The Endurance Tour. Mon Rovia was also on the bill for the evening, as he has been providing support for the whole tour.
Dropkick Murphys brought their St. Patrick’s Day Weekend Celebration to the MGM Music Hall at Fenway. The show took place on March 15, 2024. This was the second show of a four night run in Boston, and first of three at the MGM Music Hall. The Scratch opened things up for the night, with Pennywise following. Pennywise is on the bill for all four nights, but there is a different opener each night. Pennywise performed fan favorites like Fuck Authority, Stand by Me (Ben E. King), and Bro Hymn throughout their 13 song set leading up to DKM.
Prince/Bowie came to The Sinclair in Cambridge, Massachusetts on March 1, 2024. Weird Phishes were also on the bill, as they opened things up for the night. This is a band that combines Radiohead and Phish tunes. They kicked their set off with Radiohead’s Airbag. Some other Radiohead songs featured were Reckoner, Paranoid Android, and Optimistic. Carini, Birds of a Feather, and Stash were amongst the Phish songs performed throughout their set. All photographs from the evening were provided by Joanna Gleason.
PWHL Ottawa visited Boston at the Tsongas Center on February 21, 2024. This was a rematch of their game just a few days earlier at the Tsongas, which Ottawa came out on top 4-2. That loss was Boston’s fourth in a row, but that streak came to an end Wednesday night. Boston topped Ottawa 3-1 in a solid team effort. Black History Month was celebrated throughout the game, as this was their final home game in February.
Christopher stopped by the Brighton Music Hall in Massachusetts on February 6, 2024. This show was part of the A Beautiful Live Tour. The tour is in support of A Beautiful Life, a Netflix film released in June of 2023. Jessica Woodlee was also on the bill as she opened things up for the evening. PWHL Boston took on PWHL Minnesota at the Tsongas Center in Lowell, Massachusetts on January 27, 2024. This was a rematch of Boston’s home opener, which they lost 3-2. Boston came into this matchup looking for their first home win, as they started out 0-2 at the Tsongas Center. Fortunately, they have gone 3-0 on the road to begin the season.
G. Love and Special Sauce stopped by the City Winery Boston on January 24, 2024. This was the first of back to back nights at the venue. These shows were part of the 30th Anniversary Tour, which consists of 42 total shows. Jakobs Castle is also along for the ride, opening things up each night. Jakobs Castle is fronted by Jakob Nowell, son of the late Bradley Nowell of Sublime. They played a nice little mix of originals and Sublime covers. Originals included Catch Me and Time Traveler, while April 29, 1992 (Miami) and Garden Grove were amongst the Sublime songs featured.
It looks like we have the beginning to yet another Boston-New York rivalry, this time it’s the Professional Women’s Hockey League. This was PWHL Boston’s second home game of the season. There were plenty of big hits, as well as multiple scrums throughout the afternoon.
